COVID-19 Notice

A message to our families and guest:

Thank you for trusting Thatcher’s Funeral Home with your funeral service needs. Your trust is important to us.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to those individuals who have been affected by this unprecedented event and we appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments around the world who are on the front line working to contain this Coronavirus.

Please know that Thatcher’s Funeral Home understands the severity and the risk involved with the Coronavirus (COVI-19). As a public entity we want to inform you that we are taking all the necessary precautions to ensure that we reduce your risk of exposure while visiting our facility.

We are monitoring all communications distributed by the Center For Disease Control and the National Funeral Directors Association as well as our local and state health agencies in regard to all information related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Our staff will make cleaning procedures top priority at our facility. Every day all door handles, knobs, faucets, toilets, water fountain, as well as any surfaces that come into human contact will be diligently cleaned with an antibacterial agent. Posters created by the Center For Disease Control with information on the Coronavirus and how to protect yourself from contracting it will be posted throughout our facility.

While attending services at our facility you will have access to hand sanitizer and Kleenex.

Remember to take steps necessary to keep yourself healthy. A personal space zone (distance of approximately 6 ft.) will be created between visitors, family members, and staff to keep from spreading the virus by personal contact. Please wash your hands, avoid touching your face, and practice appropriate self-care, including staying home when you are sick.

Thank you for choosing Thatcher’s Funeral Home for your funeral services and to Celebrate the Lives of those you love.

Welcome

Thatcher's Funeral Home believes in the "celebration of life." When Nathan Thatcher Sr. founded Thatcher's Funeral Home in 1912, he believed life should be celebrated. We continue that belief today as the oldest African-American family-owned business in the state of Kansas.

From founder to great-grandson, for over 100 years, Thatcher's has provided "homegoing" services that uniquely meet the needs of families during their time of need to celebrate the lives of their loved ones.

Thatcher's was founded on the Golden Rule—"do unto others as you would have them do unto you"—and still follows that practice today. Great-grandson and General Manager Robert L. Davis is committed to taking care of your needs – right down to the smallest details. Professional and compassionate, Thatcher's staff works to ensure that your loved one's memorial service is "just right" and honors, commemorates and celebrates a life lived.
